Guest Speaker Spotlight鈥 DATA 130
We had a fantastic visit from Svetlana Gubin, Data Strategist with the Oakland Police Department, in our DATA 130 – The Data Science Profession class!
Svetlana shared her career journey and gave our students an inside look at working with data in government—from the skills and tools she uses in her work to navigating a career in the public sector. We especially appreciated her practical advice about building a career, staying curious, and adapting as data science and AI continue to evolve.
A huge thank you to Svetlana for spending time with our students and sharing her experiences so openly. Opportunities like these help our students see the many different paths a career in data can take!
