Frequently Asked Questions

  • Direct deposits can be expected:
    Fall: ~September 1
    Spring: ~February 1

    Delays are possible. Call VA education line 888-442-4551 for missing payments.

  • Ch. 33 & Ch. 31: School paid directly.

    Ch. 30, 35, 1606: Student receives stipend and pays school.

  • Resubmit your VA certification request in MyCSUEB immediately and notify VSS of all schedule changes.

  • No. Waitlisted courses cannot be certified. Resubmit once you are confirmed off the waitlist.

  • Earned grades: A, B, C, D, F.
    NOT paid: Incomplete (I) or Withdrawal (W). These generate a VA debt.

  • Yes, in most cases. Apply at and notify VSS. VR&E switches may take up to 6 months.

  • Plan A: No (must choose one).
    Plan B: Yes. Contact VSS to coordinate both benefits.

     

  • Contact VSS if a balance remains past the Add/Drop date. Ch. 35 & 1606 students pay school from stipend.
