Hayward, CA is one of 21 communities across the United States to be selected as a U.S. Department of Education Promise Neighborhood. This designation has been awarded to two geographical areas of Hayward – the Jackson Triangle, South Hayward, and Downtown Hayward which combined have become Hayward Promise Neighborhoods.

Hayward, CA es una de las 21 comunidades en los Estados Unidos seleccionadas como Promise Neighborhood por el Departamento de Educación de EE.UU. Esta designación ha sido otorgada a dos áreas geográficas de Hayward: Jackson Triangle, South Hayward, y el centro de Hayward, que en conjunto se han convertido en Hayward Promise Neighborhoods.

Hayward Residents meeting either of the below criteria qualify for program and services provides through HPNs:

  • by School: Children or students who attend any of the following schools: Burbank Elementary, Cherryland Elementary, East Avenue Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Harder Elementary, Cesar Chavez MS, Bret Harte MS, Winton MS, Brenkwitz HS, Hayward HS, Tennyson HS
  • by Address: Individuals who live within the grant geographical boundaries (see map below):
